A discussion with Fabrice Labit
I have been a professional photographer for 3 years now, specializing in events (whether corporate events or weddings) and portraits (corporate or more artistic).
My story with photography began in the 90s with the great era of Tops Models (Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, etc.) and star photographers like Peter Lindbergh, Herb Ritts, and Richard Avedon mainly. I was fascinated by all these beautiful images, these great sets, and all these staged scenes in magnificent places. And above all, what I liked was this work on the looks, attitudes, lights, which created different stories. It has become the common thread of my photos, which I am continually looking for.
My professional beginnings began in advertising agencies after a Master's degree in Visual Communication, to become Artistic Director. So I have always been in the world of images, and these beginnings have allowed me to exercise my eye to analyze an image and build it. I then fully embarked on the profession of photographer 3 years ago. The hardest and longest part of this job is to create a network and to get customers to trust us. It is a trust that is gradually earned by giving the best of yourself whatever the event you have to capture or the model you have to highlight.
I also had to learn to master photo-related software such as Photoshop and Lightroom, post-production being a significant and time-consuming part of the job. A controlled touch-up often makes the difference in the final result.

Concerning my equipment, I am equipped with 2 NIKON reflex cameras (the D810 and the D750). I like working with the 50mm 1.4 and also the 70-200 2.8 (a telephoto lens) that I use at weddings to allow me to capture emotions and looks while being outside the scene. I do a lot of Studio and I have equipped myself with Profoto (the B1X and A1X), which allow me to control the light to get better results. The other advantage of the B1X is that it is a wireless studio flash, which allows me to take it with me on all types of events.
So I keep moving forward and try to improve with each shooting. Believing in your work and getting positive feedback from professionals and individuals about my job is so stimulating and encouraging! When you practice an artistic profession, the recognition of your peers and others is a source of inspiration. I am still only a young photographer, but I am holding on to succeed and be able to live fully from it.
